Meet Coach Jake Hill
Hello! I am Coach Jake Hill. At Marshall Academy, I serve as Head Football Coach, Head Boys Basketball Coach, and Upper School Health Teacher. I am excited to join the Patriot family and look forward to helping our students grow both in the classroom and through athletics.
My Education and Experience
I graduated from Tupelo High School before continuing my football career as a quarterback at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss).
My coaching career has taken me to schools across Mississippi and Arkansas, including Northeast Mississippi Community College, Oxford High School, Louisville High School, New Albany High School, Manila High School (Arkansas), Lake Cormorant High School, Amory High School, and West Point High School.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of coaching in three MHSAA Class 5A State Championship games. Most recently, I helped lead West Point High School to the 2024 Class 5A State Championship, an accomplishment made possible through the dedication of outstanding student-athletes, coaches, and supportive communities.
My Coaching Philosophy
I believe athletics provide some of life's greatest opportunities to teach character, discipline, accountability, and perseverance.
Winning is important, but my greatest responsibility is helping young people develop into confident leaders, dependable teammates, and individuals of integrity. Every practice, every game, and every day in the classroom is an opportunity to teach lessons that extend far beyond the scoreboard.
My goal is to build programs that reflect excellence, hard work, and sportsmanship while creating an environment where every student-athlete is encouraged to reach his or her full potential.
My Life Outside of School
My greatest joy is spending time with my three children: Zane, Daxton, and Farris.
When I'm not coaching or teaching, I enjoy serving as a collegiate baseball umpire, playing golf, and challenging friends to a game of chess. I believe lifelong learning and healthy competition keep us sharp, and I enjoy opportunities to continue growing both personally and professionally.
Contact Me

I look forward to partnering with our students and families as we strive for excellence in the classroom, in competition, and in life.
