Mrs. Jennifer Knox
Meet Mrs. Jennifer M. Knox
5th Grade Homeroom Teacher
Welcome to 5th Grade! I am Jennifer M. Knox, and it is a joy to welcome you to our classroom family. I am originally from Evanston, Illinois, but I have found my true home here at Marshall Academy, where I am now celebrating my 18th year in education.
My Background and Experience
I have felt the "bug" for teaching since I was a young girl playing school with my pretend students—who were always very well-behaved! That early passion led me to years of babysitting and eventually to the University of Mississippi, where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Hotty Toddy!
My journey as a professional educator began in 2008. Over the last nearly two decades, my time in the classroom has been an exciting ride, and I can’t believe how quickly the years have flown by. Marshall Academy is truly my home, and I am dedicated to taking care of our school and our students.
My Educational Vision
When I first started teaching, I spent time wondering if this was my true calling. As time went on, it became clear that the Good Lord had a purpose for me in this profession, and now I cannot imagine myself anywhere else.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that children today need more than just an academic education; they need love, guidance, and encouragement. I strive to be a teacher who inspires her students to want to learn, helps them realize that God has a good life planned for them, and ensures they know I am always in their corner. I may occasionally forget a name as the years pass, but I will never forget a face!
My Life Outside of School
Family and school life are deeply intertwined for us. I have three sons who have already graduated from Marshall Academy and one more who will be starting high school next year. With all of them involved in Patriot football, the MA campus is a major part of our lives.
When I have some down time, my family and I love to:
- Travel: Exploring new places together, especially the beach.
- Sports: Cheering on the Ole Miss Rebels at football games and playing tennis.
- Stay Active: Going out to eat, watching movies, and being active as a family.
Contact Me
My door is always open to students, parents, and faculty. If there is ever anything I can do to support your family's experience or if you have any questions about the 5th-grade year, please do not hesitate to reach out through the school office.
