Amanda McCord
Meet Mrs. Amanda McCord
Elementary Art | Library | Computer
Welcome! I am Amanda McCord, and I have the wonderful privilege of sparking creativity and curiosity in our elementary students through Art, Library, and Computer classes. I believe that every child is an artist and a lifelong learner, and I am honored to be a part of their journey here at Marshall Academy.
My Background and Experience
Before joining the Marshall Academy faculty, I dedicated my time to being a stay-at-home mom, a role that deepened my appreciation for the unique ways children see the world. Now, I bring that same nurturing spirit to the classroom, where I manage our school library, lead our computer lab, and guide our students through the world of art.
My Educational Vision
I love all things Art! My goal is to teach children not just how to create, but how to love the process of creation. I strive to build a classroom environment that encourages every student to be creative, take risks, and find their own unique voice. Whether we are exploring a new book in the library or a new medium in the art room, I want my students to feel encouraged to reach their absolute highest potential.
My Life Outside of School
When I’m not at school, my heart is at home. I live on a farm, and there is nowhere I would rather be than enjoying the quiet and beauty of our land with my family. I am a passionate gardener and a native plant enthusiast, and I find great joy in working with the earth.
My hobbies and interests include:
- Artistic Pursuits: I love to express my own creativity through pottery and painting.
- Nature: Cultivating native plants and spending time outdoors.
- Home Life: Relaxing on the farm and making memories with my family.
