Kim Shelton
Meet Mrs. Kim Shelton
Hello! I am Kim Shelton. With over three decades of educational experience, I am thrilled to be a part of the Marshall Academy family, where I currently teach 7th through 9th-grade Computer classes!
My Education and Experience
I graduated from Tupelo High School in 1987. I then earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Education in 1992 and my Master’s degree in Technology Education in 1993, both from Mississippi State University.
I began my teaching career at Jackson Murrah High School (1993-1996), where I taught Word Processing, Data Processing, and Basic Programming. I then moved to Olive Branch High School, where I spent 26 wonderful years (1996-2022) teaching Business Law, Personal Finance, Technology Discovery, and STEM. I proudly became a Patriot in 2022, and throughout my career, I have maintained a deep passion for preparing students with practical skills in business, technology, and computational thinking—equipping them for success in an increasingly digital world.
My Educational Vision
I believe in fostering a learning environment where students develop critical thinking skills and technological literacy. My vision is to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers who are equipped to navigate and thrive in an ever-evolving digital world.
My Life Outside of School
Family is incredibly important to me. I am married to my husband, Nicky Shelton, who is a proud graduate of Marshall Academy! We have two wonderful children, Emily and Ethan. I am also overjoyed that this June, I will officially become a "MiMi" to my very first grandchild, Hollie! Our family is complete with our two beloved pets, Pumpkin and Buster.
When I am not in the classroom, I love to unplug and enjoy the simple things. You can often find me crocheting, working in the yard, or peacefully bird-watching while sipping coffee on the porch in my favorite rocking chair.
Contact Me
My door is always open to my students and their parents. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or simply want to check in on your child's progress, please do not hesitate to reach out. You can contact me through the school office at 662-252-3449. I am looking forward to another fantastic year of learning together!
