Jane Anne Autry
Meet Ms. Jane Anne Autry
Hello! I am Jane Ann Mitchell Autry. As a lifelong resident of Holly Springs and a proud 1984 graduate of Marshall Academy, I am absolutely thrilled to return to my educational roots and be a part of the MA faculty!
My Background and Experience
After graduating from Marshall Academy, I attended Mississippi State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education in 1988. Following graduation, I worked for the Mississippi Department of Human Services for several years before finding my true calling in the classroom in 1994. I spent 26 wonderful years teaching at the Benton County Career and Technical Center, while also serving as an adjunct instructor for Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Because I believe in lifelong learning, I went on to earn my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi in 2009, and I completed the Mississippi Alternate Path to Quality School Leadership program in 2010. After wrapping up my time with the Benton County School District in 2020, I realized I still had a passion for teaching, and I happily joined the faculty here at MA in 2025!
My Life Outside of School
Faith and community are incredibly important to me, and I serve as an active member and deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Holly Springs. My family also has deep, multi-generational roots right here at Marshall Academy! My son, Kelley (a 2010 MA and Ole Miss graduate), works in law enforcement, and my daughter, Maura Jane (a 2015 MA and Arkansas State University graduate), works as a radiation therapist. I am also the proudest grandmother to Konlee Jane, who is currently keeping the family tradition alive as a student here at MA!
When I am not at school advocating for educational excellence, I love spending quality time with my family. In my free time, you can usually find me shopping, attending shows at the Orpheum, eating out with my friends, enjoying the pool during the summer, or watching a great game of softball. And, of course, I always appreciate a good nap!
Contact Me
My door is always open to my students and their parents. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or simply want to check in, please feel free to reach out to me through the school office. I am looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and growing together!
