Meet Mrs. McDoniel

My name is Alma McDoniel, and I am blessed to serve as a 3K teacher assistant at Marshall Academy. I was a stay-at-home mother until 2016 when I began working in the Marshall Academy daycare program. After spending nine wonderful years there, I transitioned into my current role as a teacher assistant. I have worked with the 3K program for the past three years, and I truly enjoy helping our youngest students learn, grow, and feel loved each day.

Our family has been part of the Marshall Academy family since 2013, and it has been a special place for us through the years.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe young children learn best when they feel safe, encouraged, and cared for. My goal is to help create a classroom environment where students feel comfortable exploring, learning, and developing confidence in themselves.

I enjoy working with young children because every day brings new opportunities to help them grow socially, emotionally, and academically. I strive to support both the teacher and our students by building positive relationships and helping make each child’s school experience meaningful and enjoyable.

My Life Outside of School

I am married to my husband, Michael McDoniel, and we have three sons, all graduates of Marshall Academy. We enjoy spending as much time together as possible and love being outdoors. Some of our favorite activities include hunting, fishing, going to the lake, and making family memories together.

When I’m not spending time with my husband and children, I enjoy being with my mother, siblings, and friends. I also love shopping and finding creative outlets. Our family attends Red Banks Baptist Church, where I currently help teach first through third grade Sunday School classes.
