Anissa Loya
Meet Mrs. Anissa Loya!
Hello! I am Anissa Loya, and I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of the Marshall Academy family!
My Education and Experience
I graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish, and I earned my teaching license through the Teach Mississippi Institute at Ole Miss. I spent several years teaching in Desoto County before taking a break to stay home with my children. In 2022, I happily returned to the classroom and began my journey here at Marshall Academy. During my time at MA, I have taught Spanish 1, Spanish 2, Study and Life Skills, Speech, and 8th-grade American History. I am also incredibly proud to have introduced a brand-new class to our curriculum: Exploratory Spanish for our junior high students!
My Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging classroom where students feel comfortable taking risks as they learn. I value my students as individuals and believe that strong relationships are essential to meaningful learning. In my Spanish classes, I focus on making language accessible through comprehensible input, interactive activities, and culturally relevant lessons. While not every student will naturally love learning another language, my ultimate goal is for every single student to feel supported and find success in my classroom.
My Life Outside of School
Family is incredibly important to me. I have two wonderfully rambunctious boys, Adrian (11) and “Gordo” (7). I spend most of my free time keeping up with them, making memories, and enjoying our time together!
When I do have a quiet moment to myself, I love to tap into my creative side. I really enjoy crafting, making things by hand, and exploring new creative projects.
Contact Me
My door is always open to my students and their parents. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or simply want to check in on your child's progress, please feel free to reach out to me through the school office. I am looking forward to a fantastic year of learning together!
