Lacy Tollison
Meet Mrs. Lacy Tollison
Hello! I am Lacy Tollison. I am originally from Indianola, Mississippi, and I am blessed beyond measure to be a part of the family here at Marshall Academy!
My Education and Experience
I graduated from Indianola Academy in 1990 and earned my Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Mississippi State University in 1994. Over the years, I have had a wonderfully diversified career. I have worked in the Delta as a cotton merchant, served as a youth director and church secretary for several Methodist churches across the state, and taught dance in Indianola, Belzoni, Puckett, New Albany, and now Holly Springs.
I have had a deep passion for the performing arts since I was three years old! For over 25 years, I have owned dance studios around Mississippi, worked as a freelance choreographer, and had the great honor of teaching hundreds of children. I have also performed in and directed many shows, served on the staff of Showchoir Camps of America for almost a decade, and served on the Mid-Delta Arts Association Board of Directors.
In 2021, I proudly started the dance program here at Marshall Academy, teaching our students tap, ballet, jazz, and lyrical dance. I am also incredibly excited to kick off a brand-new theater program at MA at the end of the summer, directing a production of Steel Magnolias starring several staff members, a former student, and a current student! I am hoping this is the start of a wonderful tradition that continues for years to come.
My Life Outside of School
I have been happily married to my husband, Jeff, since 1999. A decade into our marriage, Jeff entered the ministry, and we left the Delta for the communities around the state that God called us to serve.
We are blessed with three beautiful, smart, and talented daughters who are all deeply connected to MA. Lizzie (a 2019 MA and 2023 MSU graduate) lives in Tupelo and is the executive director for the Tupelo Ballet. Anna Griffin (a 2022 MA and 2024 MDCC graduate) cheered on a full scholarship at MDCC and is currently teaching tumbling and helping with dance here at MA. Our youngest, Ruthie, is a current high school student at MA who cheers for the Varsity team, competes in Mock Trial, and assists with my dance classes!
