Meet Mrs. Makenzie Hall

Hello! I am Makenzie Hall, and I am so excited to be the 4th through 6th-grade English teacher here at Marshall Academy!

My Education and Experience 

I graduated from Ole Miss in 2022 with a degree in Elementary Education. I proudly joined the Marshall Academy family in 2024, and I absolutely love having the opportunity to teach English to our wonderful middle-grades students every day.

My Teaching Philosophy 

My teaching philosophy is rooted in care and connection: I want to make sure all of my students feel welcomed and loved the moment they step into my classroom. Beyond our daily coursework, my ultimate goal is to promote confidence and foster inquisitive minds in my students. I want to do more than just teach them English; I want to teach them to be lifelong learners.

My Life Outside of School 

I live in New Albany with my husband, Jack. We have a very full, fun, and unique household because we share our home with 8 beloved animals! Our furry and scaly family includes two dogs, a cat, three lizards, a snake, and even a jumping spider.

When I am not in the classroom, I absolutely love learning new things and picking up new hobbies. Right now, my favorite ways to spend my free time include reading, gardening, sewing, embroidering, and baking delicious goods.
