Mrs. Karen Churchill
Meet Mrs.Karen Churchill
Elementary Principal
Welcome to Marshall Academy! I am Karen Churchill, and it is my privilege to serve as your Elementary Principal. My career has been dedicated to the growth and development of students, and I am honored to lead our elementary department in fostering a supportive and challenging learning environment.
My Background and Experience
I am a proud graduate of the University of Mississippi, where I earned both my Bachelor of Arts and my Master of Education. My journey in education spans over three decades, bringing a wealth of experience to our leadership team.
Before stepping into my current role, my career included:
- New Albany Schools: 14 years as a dedicated classroom teacher.
- South Tippah Schools: 15 years serving as a school administrator.
- Marshall Academy: Three years as a sixth-grade teacher followed by two years in my current position as Elementary Principal.
My Educational Vision
I believe in fostering a school environment that feels like a family—one where every student feels encouraged to grow academically, personally, and socially. My goal is to ensure that the elementary years at Marshall Academy provide a strong foundation rooted in community and character, helping every student reach their absolute highest potential.
My Life Outside of School
Education truly runs in my family; both of my parents are retired school administrators. I have one brother who serves as a Mississippi House Representative and another who is a teacher here at Marshall Academy.
Family is the heart of my life. I have four children and three wonderful grandchildren, with one more on the way! The Marshall Academy community is a personal home for us as well: my son, Zane, and my grandson, Colt, are both students here at MA.
When I am not at the school or attending extracurricular events, I enjoy:
- Reading: I am a lifelong lover of books and learning.
- Family Time: Spending quality time with my children and grandchildren.
Contact Me
My door is always open to students, parents, and faculty. If you have any questions, concerns, or if there is ever anything I can do to support your family’s experience at Marshall Academy, please do not hesitate to reach out. You can contact me through the school office.
