Meet Mr. Jason Taylor, Head of School

Welcome to Marshall Academy! I am Jason Taylor, and it is my distinct honor and privilege to serve as your Head of School.

My Background and Experience

I am originally from Florence, Alabama, but Holly Springs and the Marshall Academy community have truly become my home for the past 17 years. Before stepping into administration as Head of School, I had the pleasure of serving as both a football and baseball coach and history teacher right here at MA. My time coaching and teaching taught me invaluable lessons about teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of strong character—qualities that I strive to see reflected in our entire student body every single day.

I graduated from Athens State University with a B.A. in History. I then furthered my studies with a Master’s in History at Mississippi State University. I have an Ed. Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State University. I was the head football and baseball coach at H.W. Byers for a few years, but most of my career has been spent right here at Marshall Academy.

My Educational Vision

Whether on the athletic field or in the classroom, my ultimate goal is to see the students of Marshall Academy succeed and reach their absolute highest potential. I believe in fostering a school environment that feels like a family—one that is supportive, appropriately challenging, and rooted in community. I want every student who walks through our doors to feel encouraged to grow academically, athletically, and personally.

My Life Outside of School

Family is at the center of my life. I am married to Mrs. Sarah Taylor, who teaches English here at MA, and we have two wonderful children: Annie (13) and James Travis, who goes by "JT" or "Bubba" (11). Our lively household is completed by our two dogs, an American Labrador named Woodrow and a rescue St. Bernard mix named Buck. When I'm not at the school or attending extracurricular events, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing guitar, hunting, and fishing.
