Marshall Academy's varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders recently returned from an exciting and successful week at the UCA Cheer Camp held at Mississippi State University.
The teams attended camp from Saturday, June 27, through Tuesday, June 30, where they immersed themselves in four days of intensive instruction, leadership development, and team building. Throughout the week, the cheerleaders lived in the Mississippi State residence halls and spent approximately twelve hours each day learning new cheers, chants, sidelines, game-day routines, and advanced cheerleading techniques under the guidance of UCA instructors.
The camp concluded Tuesday with a showcase and awards ceremony at Humphrey Coliseum, where family and friends gathered to watch the teams perform the routines they had worked so hard to perfect throughout the week.
Marshall Academy's varsity squad earned impressive honors during the competition, bringing home second place in Cheer and second place in Camp Performance in their division. The varsity team also received blue ribbons on every evaluation, recognizing their consistent excellence throughout the week. On varsity, Jayde Daniels, Rylyn Gray, Kylee Cook, Hadley Smoot, and Millie Teel made All-American.
The junior varsity squad also enjoyed an outstanding camp, earning fourth place in Camp Routine in its division while receiving blue ribbons on all of its performances. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication were evident throughout the week as they continued to develop their skills and build confidence. Madison Orman, Corrine Woods, Ainsley Sanders, and Joydin Mason made All-American.
In addition to earning awards, both the varsity and junior varsity squads gained valuable experience that will prepare them for the upcoming school year. Camp provided opportunities to strengthen technical skills, build confidence, develop leadership, and grow together as a team.
Congratulations to all of our Marshall Academy cheerleaders and coaches on an outstanding week representing the Patriot family with excellence. We look forward to seeing their hard work and enthusiasm on the sidelines this fall as they continue to support our student-athletes and school community.
